Stefan Vermeulen

Stefan Vermeulen (1978, The Hague) is working as a Product Marketeer for the Flemish IBBT (Interdisciplinary Institute for Broadband Technology). Stefan moved to the 'westvloamse' village Gullegem for obvious personal reasons ('a girl..'). Besides working at IBBT, Stefan owns COMMUNIS+, a telecommunication re-seller for the Flemish SME-market.

Before moving to Belgium, Stefan was a senior Proposition Marketer for the Amsterdam-based ISP Online Broadband, part of T-Mobile and previously known as Orange Broadband, Wanadoo and Euronet Internet. In this role, Stefan helped developing a range of new services for the consumer market.

At Smile Telecom, Stefan obtained the role of Marketing Manager. Smile Telecom's ambition was to roll-out a nation wide mobile network based on WiMAX-technology. Prior to that, the company was a MVNO on the KPN-network and offered (fixed) IP communication services. The company filed however for bankruptcy after the Dutch government announced for a third time a delay on its 2,6 GHz auction.

From October 2006 until the end of 2008 Stefan has been working as a market manager for the Small- and Medium Business market within TNT Post, the main Dutch postal service facing an enormous commercial challenge in a rapidly changing market. Before that, he has been working for 7 years in different marketing and communication functions at KPN. Other companies he has been working for include Cactus Design (Spain), Chello/UPC (The Netherlands) and ABN AMRO (The Netherlands).

Stefan loves rock climbing, camping, going fast on a motor bike and going to rock gigs. It's taking him already over 3 years to pick up his guitar and start wind surfing, but he intends to do so in the coming 3 years. He is preparing himself for the Mont Blanc, a marathon, a triathlon and a trail run - perhaps he will even participate in one.

In his spare time Stefan likes to read, watch art house movies, go to concerts, play guitar, wind surf, climb, ride a bike, travel and talk to strangers in the local pub.
